Used for - This BT master socket should be connected to the main incoming telephone line into a property, it cannot be used as an extension socket. The faceplate should be fitted to the supplied 23mm standard single back box using the included fixing screws. The included IDC tool can be used for connecting the internal wires on the BT cable to the master socket. Why Buy? - The NTE5A master socket has a removable front panel as can be seen in the picture (removing the front panel removes all customer extensions etc. and allows the user to plug directly into the line operator i.e. BT),
making testing a line extremely easy. This is the latest version of BT socket with a bellwire filter which can help to improve broadband speeds. How to fit - Fitting an extension - If you wish to wire an extension off this master socket, a cable should be run through the back box and to the front panel. There is 3 IDC terminals where a cable can be attached using an IDC tool. The extension socket should be wired to the master socket in the following format; terminal 2 to 2, 3 to 3 and 5 to 5.
