CAT5 Patch Cable This cable is connected in a 'straight through' format and not 'cross over'. 'Cross over' cables are usually used for connectinig 2 computers together without there being a Hub/Router in between. Used for - Perfect for connecting a PC/games console to a Hub/Router or commonly with AV extender devices for audio and video distribution throughout a home or commercial project. Construction - Our CAT5 cable is made up of 8 x AWG26 conductors, each conductor is paired up with another and twisted together making 4 pairs, this is how the 'twisted pair concept' gets its name. The twisted pair construction primarily prevents magnetic and radio frequency interference. The cable works up to 100Mhz. Moulded RJ45 connectors with strain relief - Enables the cable to be bent in a multitude of directions without breaking. Durable PVC jacket - The thick jacket helps to protect the cable against wear and tear. Wiring - The cable is wired 'straight through' under the TIA/EIA-568-B standard. This is exactly the same as TIA/EIA-568-A except the wiring scheme has the colours laid out in a different order. |
