Unbalanced Connection - XLR PIN 2 is connected to the centre RCA pin, XLR PIN 3 is disconnected, XLR PIN 1 is connected to the ring of the RCA plug. This adapter is only available in an unbalanced format, it is impossible to make a balanced RCA to XLR adapter.

This adapter is used to plug into a RCA female connection to create a XLR female connection and can be used in both directions. It can be used to allow XLR devices to be compatible with RCA connections, found on many amps, mixers, PCs, etc.
