Run up to 70 metres with minimal signal loss! What does the package include? 1 x Transmitter 1 x Receiver 1 x Instruction Booklet 2 x Power Source (100-240V) Mounting Brackets The power sources need to be plugged in at the transmitter and the receiver. How do I set it up? The HDMI CAT5 transmitter sits next to your source, such as a Blu-ray player and is connected to the source by a HDMI cable. The receiver should be plugged into an output device such as a HDTV, using a HDMI cable. One run of CAT5 or CAT6 cable can then be run in between the transmitter and receiver. Why buy? Our HDMI CAT5 extender allows installers to take advantage of CAT5 or CAT6 ethernet cable for connecting HDMI devices over long distances. CAT5 cable is most commonly used for computer networking, it is readily available and is very cheap. A CAT5 extender device such as this is a much more cost effective way to connect devices over long distances without loss of signal quality, (HDMI cables could only be run up to 15 metres, would require a lot of shielding and would be very expensive). CAT5 cable is relatively thin and flexible so it is easily installed, for example through walls. It can be self terminated which allows for tailored lengths to meet the exact requirements of any home or commercial installation. Distance – Actual usable distance between the transmitter and receiver will vary on a number of factors including strength of signal, quality of terminations and local sources of interference. Build Quality – The units are well built and are compact. They have a durable metal chassis. Gold Plated Connectors – to increase signal quality. DVI Compatible - This device cannot be used with DVI signals. Cables – In order to produce the best quality over long distances, we would recommend use of high quality cables, running to and from the transmitter and receiver.
