HDMI CAT5 Extender - Version 1.3B

1080P @ 30M Lengths

480P @ 60M Lengths

Perfect for long distance signal transmission, that would be otherwise not possible.

Run up to 60 metres with minimal signal loss!

*If using with 3D devices we recommend using CAT6 cables and the distance achievable may vary. They should at least exceed 20 metres.

What does the package include?

1 x Transmitter

1 x Receiver

1 x Instruction Booklet

1 x Power Source - 100-240V, 5V Output

The power source needs to be plugged into the CAT5 receiver, it is sometimes not required depending on how much power there is already within your set-up.

How do I set it up?

The HDMI CAT5 transmitter sits next to your source, such as a Blu-ray player and is connected to the source by a HDMI cable. The receiver should be plugged into an output device such as a HDTV, using a HDMI cable. Two runs of CAT5 cable, which can be up to 60 metres in length are then be run in between the transmitter and receiver.

Why buy?

Our HDMI CAT5 extender allows installers to take advantage of CAT5 (or higher) ethernet cable for connecting HDMI devices over long distances. CAT5 cable is most commonly used for computer networking, it is readily available and is very cheap. A CAT5 extender device such as this is a much more cost effective way to connect devices over long distances without loss of signal quality, (HDMI cables could only be run up to 15 metres, would require a lot of shielding and would be very expensive). CAT5 cable is relatively thin and flexible so it is easily installed, for example through walls. It can be self terminated which allows for tailored lengths to meet the exact requirements of any home or commercial installation.

Specification

Distance – Actual usable distance between the transmitter and receiver will vary on a number of factors including strength of signal, quality of terminations and local sources of interference. The 60 metre distance is based on use of CAT5 cable, and should be considered the absolute minimum. Usable distances are likely to be much greater and will increase with use of CAT5e, CAT6 or higher rated cable.

Build Quality – The units are well built and are compact. They have a durable metal chassis.

Gold Plated Connectors – to increase signal quality.

Cables – In order to produce the best quality over long distances, we would recommend use of high quality cables, running to and from the transmitter and receiver. Please view our shop to find suitable cables. If you need guidance, please email us.
