This IR receiver runs on 12V. The 3.5mm plug is wired in the following way: Tip - Signal Ring - Ground Sleeve - +12VDC Troubleshooting Sometimes IR receivers struggle receiving/distinguishing commands due to infrared interference sometimes caused by TVs, fireplaces or direct sunlight. If the interference is extremely high in the area where the IR receiver is placed the blue IR confirmation LED may always be on. To reduce the interference to a manageable level, masking tape or paper over the IR receiver can help. Newer TVs may have an 'energy saving function', which when in use the TV can emit a lot of IR interference. Turning this function off can help dramatically. Standards - RoHS Compliant |
