HDMI extender - what does it do?

A CAT5 extender device such as this is a much more cost effective way to connect devices over long distances without losing signal quality, (HDMI cables could only be run up to 15 metres, would require a lot of shielding and would be very expensive). CAT5 cable is relatively thin and flexible so it is easily installed, for example through walls. CAT5 cable can be self terminated which allows precise lengths of cable to be used to meet your exact requirements.
